Mount Titlis

The famous Mount Titlis and its glacier are only 30 km from Vitznau, as the crow flies. A cable car leads from the village of Engelberg up to the base of Mount Titlis at over 3,400 meters above sea level. From there the groundbreaking rotating cable car provides a phenomenal panoramic view of the towering mountains of the Bernese Oberland with Finsteraarhorn, Wetterhorn, Schreckhorn, Mönch, and Eiger, and far into the Mittelland and the Jura. In summer the Titlis offers many attractions such as the Cliff Walk, the Ice Flyer, a cave carved into the glacier, and a glacier hike. In winter, the ski area offers many challenging slopes. The valley station of the Titlis Bahn can be reached by car, preferably by car ferry from Gersau to Beckenried, in 1 hour and 15 minutes.
