Scenic Swimming Sites around Vitznau
With a size of 114 square kilometers, Lake Lucerne offers plenty of space for leisurely bathing and athletic swimming. On warm summer days, locals and holidaymakers enjoy dipping into the crystal-clear water with its views of the surrounding Swiss mountains at the bathing spots.
Public Swimming Sites in Vitznau
Around Vitznau, four public lake entrances invite you to sunbathe, relax and swim. Some also offer fireplaces for grilling. Admission is free. All sites are easily accessible from Vitznau on foot or by bike. Parking spaces are limited, so travel by public transport is advised.
Brougier Park Vitznau
Between Vitznau and the Lützelau boat harbor, the Brougier Park is a wonderful place to swim and sunbathe. If you arrive by bus, you get off at the Unterwilen bus stop.

Fun Fact: The park is named after the German businessman and food entrepreneur Adolph Brougier. The Royal Bavarian Councilor of Commerce spent the last part of his life in Vitznau
Further Swimming Sites on Lake Lucerne
All bathing spots around the lake can be easily reached by public transport. With the exception of the Lido in Weggis, all outdoor pools can be used free of charge.
Lido Weggis
The Lido Weggis is a true bathing paradise, where since 1919 swimmers have been cooling down in Lake Lucerne. The nearest bus stop is the Neubüel station in Weggis. In the summer months, the Lido bus takes visitors from the Weggis boat station to the Lido. There is also a paid parking lot.

The Lido Weggis also has its own indoor pool and a wellness area with a Finnish sauna and steam bath, which are also open in winter
The best way to reach the public bathing area in Hertenstein is by boat. The lawn for sunbathing is about 500 meters away from the Hertenstein boat station. Comfortable benches and public toilets are available.
On the sunbathing lawn, the benches, or at the barbecue area right next to the Lützelau harbour, there is plenty of space for guests to make themselves comfortable. The bus stop, the boat station and the restaurant are only a few meters away.
The Felsberg bathing area, picturesquely situated between chestnut and fig trees, bears witness to the mild climate on Lake Lucerne. Both the bus stop and a restaurant are in the immediate vicinity.
The public bathing area between Hertenstein and Greppen is about 2.5 kilometers from the village center of Weggis. A special highlight is the campfire site.
Right next to the boat harbor is the public lido in Greppen with its own swimming raft, playground, and changing room. The lido is about 400 meters away on foot from the Oberhaus bus station.
