Climbing & Via Ferrata
Varied climbing gardens and climbing halls in the area
Although the well-known north faces of the Alps are at least two hours away by car, climbing enthusiasts will also find plenty of opportunities to practice this sport in the Vitznau region. The nearest indoor climbing halls are in Morschach or in Lucerne with routes for all levels of difficulty. There are also numerous climbing gardens in the great outdoors. There are beautiful climbing gardens on the Rigi Hochfluh, in Gersau or on the other side of the lake in Risleten. The rock in these crags is just as varied as the routes: while grippy limestone and steep overhanging rock sections beckon on the Rigi, you will find a limestone slab in Risleten for those who love friction climbing. All climbing gardens are easily accessible by public transport and a walk. Those who prefer it alpine will find an almost endless selection of alpine climbing tours in Uri or in the area around Engelberg. And in the evening, what could be nicer than stretching your tired arms and legs and enjoying the fine dining on the lake shore of Vitznau?
